Hello All,
Hi Hank,
Currently impulsive maneuvers assume that we want the maneuver to be in the
general orientation of the spacecraft. Often times maneuvers are in a
different attitude mode than the operational attitude mode. One way to
simulate this would be by having segmented attitudes, however that is a bit
coarse when really all we are saying is that we want to express the
impulsive maneuver in terms of a specific attitude override. A way to do
this would be to provide a frame parameter on the impulsive maneuver that
would allow that to be specified when it is setup. If we make this change
in way that would not break any of the current unit tests or calling
conventions is that something you would want us to contribute back, with
the appropriate unit tests accompanying it.
Sure! It would be a great addition to Orekit.
best regards,
Luc
